IBM System Management
Facility (SMF) with
its IRRADU00/IRRADU86 exits allow to decode the RACF SMF
records type 80, which in turn can be used by e.g.
homegrown tools to create reports.
So far this is a very useful facility provided. However
installations who have a need to extract SMF data for very
specific purposes and this IBM tool allows no useful
filtering options at all. The solution to this problem can
be either to utilize the exits supplied under
section ‚filter SMF
records‘ or by
using a subsystem to trap any generated output by
IRRADU00/86 exits or by using the new SMF user EXITS
SMF$XT30/31 which in turn invokes IRRADU00/86.
